At Fuenix, Tom is responsible for commercialization of the Fuenix technology, R&D activities as well as management of operations. Tom has extensive knowledge and experience managing R&D projects in the chemical industry and particularly the chemical recycling industry. He worked 17 years at SABIC where he held numerous positions with increasing responsibility, predominantly as R&D leader in aromatics and heavy liquid processing. With a strong focus on sustainability, he was the R&D manager who had the vision to initiate SABIC's first chemical recycling project and the drive to push it through the various R&D stages, ultimately resulting in the SABIC - Plastic Energy SPEAR project. Following this, he was made responsible for the creation and execution of SABIC’s global chemical recycling portfolio, focusing on scouting chemical recycling technologies, integration with petchem, and decontamination of pyrolysis oil. In January 2023 left SABIC for his current role in Fuenix.
